In memoriam: Pablo Bordino

Pablo Bordino was a friend, mentor and guide for many members of the Forum. He left positive marks in all of them as well as in our Patagonian Sea. The study and conservation of Franciscana dolphin carried out by AquaMarina, an NGO founded and directed by him since 1998, sure was one of them. Pablo died on June 11, 2018 in the city of Pinamar, Buenos Aires. Since then, we miss him deeply, and we are inspired to keep honoring his legacy regarding marine conservation.

A marine expedition to Isla de los Estados and Tierra del Fuego was carried out by NatGeo Pristine Seas in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Argentina, the National Parks Administration and the Government of Tierra del Fuego. The first course for Managers of MPAs of the Southern Cone concludes successfully

Sixteen members belonging to 11 government institutions now have more and better tools for the management of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. This was the result of the pilot course of the Regional School for the Management of Marine Protected Areas that was launched in August and concluded at the end of November 2017, within the framework of the initiative articulated by the Forum for the Conservation of the Patagonian Sea and Areas of Influence.
