This is an analysis in which the Forum explains why salmon farming is not a compatible activity within protected areas, highlighting the urgency of decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation in order to achieve sustainable development of the territories through an integrated, rather than fragmented, approach to the economic, social and environmental dimensions related to the activity.

Along the same lines, possible solutions are proposed in the context of global changes, in order to advance in the achievement of healthy marine ecosystems through the effective protection of biodiversity as a key step to increase the resilience of our society.
