It includes an analysis of the management effectiveness of 13 marine protected areas of Chilean Patagonia, based on a standard survey carried out with key stakeholders. Although there has been progress in recent years, most areas show an incipient degree of implementation and do not guarantee that threats to biodiversity are under control.
The report outlines the main challenges, as well as the opportunities that the country has to advance towards the effective implementation of its marine conservation areas.
